The association Impact for Development expresses its satisfaction regarding the intervention by Ambassador Omar Hilale, the Permanent Representative of Morocco at the United Nations at the High Level Side Event “Participation, Human Rights and the Governance Challenge Ahead” held on September 25th, 2020. During the high level side event Ambassador Hilale stressed the importance of adopting a governance based on three pillars:

World architecture based on dialogue, a diagnosis as exact as possible and a body of universal norms and standards for human rights that would provide a framework for collective, shared responsibility and response ; Regional and local frameworks that could provide consistency to national policies and help to build partnerships; National responses based on participatory governance in the context of which governments would fully assume their responsibility before the international community and the national community. Governance which involves local government and the private sector and civil society.

In this context, "Impact for Development" considers participation as an essential pillar for the full inclusion of all stakeholders in development.

"Impact for Development" puts participation at the essence of its work and activities and strives to realize the shared responsibility that is development through the promotion of open governance. In fact, it is in this context that we held events such as the “Open, Smart City Forum” in Tanger and Sefrou with the participation of representatives from the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights, the Ministry of Human Rights and Parliament Relations, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, as well as representatives of academia and civil society and other international institutions. This Forum consisted on the utilization of a participatory approach and aimed to create an open space to collectively address the development challenges at the local level. Impact for Development recognizes the importance of promoting the sharing of best governance practices, which is why the association launched the online platform opendevlibrary.org, a space where best practices around the world can be accessed by all.

Furthermore, "Impact for Development" has participated in the 2020 OGP Virtual Leaders Summit, held under the auspices of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, to share the participatory, innovative and sustainable approaches it has undertaken to address the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
